We are seeking an enthusiastic and capable professional to represent the University of York, UK, in the China market to help fulfil its student recruitment objectives. The primary focus of the role will be carrying out the University’s recruitment activities in China, promoting and developing brand awareness, enhancing and developing stakeholder relationships, assisting in identifying and developing market opportunities, and executing conversion strategies.
This position involves frequent interaction with University staff and we are looking for a dynamic, driven and adaptable candidate with recent experience of working in student recruitment or an international business/marketing role. Whilst based in Beijing or Shanghai, the post-holder will be expected to travel extensively (30-40%) including weekends and during unsocial hours. You will be one of two representatives based in China and will be supported closely by both University and Grok Global staff.

Job Description
- Play a constructive and pro-active role in the implementation of the University’s international student recruitment and conversion activities in China
- As guided by the International Recruitment Manager and Regional Manager, devise and execute an annual plan of recruitment activities for the China market, ensuring that costs are kept within the assigned budget
- Represent and promote the University at online/offline recruitment and conversion events for the China market, provide advice and guidance to prospective international students, offer-holders and their advisers, offer guidance on courses, entry requirements and application processes, collect accurate leads and
- Visit source institutions such as schools, colleges and universities to promote the University to prospective international students and other stakeholders
- Guided by the International Recruitment Manager to provide support to student recruitment activities, for example business trips to attend recruitment events or attend webinars.
- Maintain and develop relationships with agents, schools, colleges, universities, University of York alumni (in collaboration with the Universities Alumni team) and other stakeholders
